Climbing and Biking

Climbing and Biking
Among connoisseurs, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains are famous as the cradle of free-form climbing. It has already been 130 years since Bad Schandau sportsmen climbed the Falkenstein peak standing like a throne above the city. This feat justified the tradition of this sport, which combines maximal physical endurance, nature experience and adventure.

In the "Climb & Bike" event, a good sense of orientation/direction, perseverance, balance and courage are much needed skills. The participants must find and follow the correct path on their mountain bikes (via the National Park bicycle path) that will lead them to rocks, which they must climb as high as possible. Time and height are scored.

Kneippiade

Kneippiade
Since 1936, Bad Schandau has maintained the title of Kneipp health resort. At the small Kneippiade in the spa gardens on Thursday evening we honour the holistic theories of the pastor Sebastian Kneipp, which were based on the five core aspects of movement, nutrition, water therapy, plant therapy and lifestyle. Amusing versions of this include run on nettles (movement therapy), water stepping with diver fins (water therapy), run at the barefoot-trail (lifestyle) or layback by smell (plant therapy) provide for much pleasure and enjoyment. Scores are based on a point system.
